New svg map I have created

[edit]

I have vectorised and turned the current map into an svg. Could someone with editing privileges please change the current map to this one?

Thanks. Mnohohrishnyi (talk) 16:40, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a source for this data? Kreuner (talk) 14:34, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop

[edit]

Hi, please don't revert my edits without talking first. I am tackling the citations and the duplinks and the individual cns on this dreadful article are not needed - I can see where the text needs to be cited. Amitchell125 (talk) 19:21, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, I don't see the reason for the CN template for the whole article, thanks! ManyAreasExpert (talk) 19:36, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It can go if you want, but the article as a whole needs the citations checked, and any uncited material removed. Amitchell125 (talk) 19:40, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! After you're done, as the article is mostly supplied with sources, there is no sense to have CN for the whole of it. ManyAreasExpert (talk) 19:42, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help with the missing citations? Amitchell125 (talk) 19:44, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what are you doing, which sentence(s) you need the source for? ManyAreasExpert (talk) 19:46, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Err... any with [citation needed] after them, or any that are clearly in need of a citation. If you can help, that would be great. Amitchell125 (talk) 19:54, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request on adding a link to the relevant article Geographical distribution of Ukrainian speakers

[edit]

I think that the Ukrainian language #Current usage section would be better if its beginning provided a link to the Geographical distribution of Ukrainian speakers article. It contains census data from different countries and other important information. Swiirwo (talk) 12:35, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Typo

[edit]

Section - Sample text

In Ukrainian "born" is not нарождуються (narozhduyut'sya) but народжуються (narodzhuyut'sya). Could somebody fix this please? Litarry (talk) 17:11, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Little edit Required

[edit]

The section "diaspora" has the following sentence: "Canada 200,525 (67,665 spoken at home in 2001, 148,000 spoken as "mother tongue" in 2001)"

I suggest it should read: "Canada 200,525 (67,665 spoken at home, 148,000 spoken as "mother tongue" in 2001)" Francis1867 (talk) 06:26, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Austro-Hungary"

[edit]

Can someone please change all instances (a total of 3 at the moment) of "Austro-Hungary" to Austria-Hungary. This is likely a Ukrainian native speaker translating from his or her mother tongue (Австро-Угорщина) into English in which it is odd and unidiomatic. 2001:4C4E:248A:2B00:8B8:9E6:787E:1D3E (talk) 08:39, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrainian as minority language

[edit]

"Русский союз Латвии будет сотрудничать с партией Социалистов Молдовы"
"Latvian Russian Union will cooperate with the Party of Socialists of Moldova"

For years, this was the article cited as a reference for the fact that Ukrainian is a recognized minority language in Moldova.

A part of the article is focused on how the Russian language is taught in Moldovan schools and is widely understood. This article does not even mention the Ukrainian language nor anything about Ukraine at ALL.

Who put this in? Why didn't anyone notice? Underfell Flowey (talk) 09:34, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

User:Underfell Flowey, don't worry about what happened in the past, just go fix it so the article is accurate. If that means taking out the reference, and the content with it, then so be it. If the content was accurate, but only the reference is not, then remove only the reference, and replace it with a {{citation needed}} tag.
Also, I renamed this section, as few readers will understand the original Russian header. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 11:00, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would, but I'm still 100 edits short of an extended-confirmed account on the English Wikipedia.
User:Victor P. helped me find the Moldovan law on minorities which specfically mentions Ukrainian, which can be used as the new reference. https://www.legis.md/cautare/getResults?doc_id=64020&lang=ro Underfell Flowey (talk) 11:19, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
