Unsigned comment
[edit]Most things u write about the man are not correct And why don't u talk about the good thing he did for the country Uganda like constructing Mandela stadium — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mangenihassan (talk • contribs) 05:49, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- Most things u write about the man are not correct Such as? Also, the Mandela National Stadium was opened in the late 1990s, almost 20 years past Amin's presidency. -Indy beetle (talk) 05:57, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
Claims of participation in Shifta War
[edit]The claim that Amin participated in the Shifta war in the KAR in 1949 doesn’t seem right as the Shifta war began in 1963. The source cited only makes a vague reference to him being stationed in Somalia fighting “the Shifta animal raiders”. Seems like this should be revised 2601:81:8500:5F10:0:0:0:BACF (talk) 20:58, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Indeed. Thank you for pointing this out. "Shifta" was a catch-all term for bandits and rebels in Somalia during this period, so whoever added "Shifta War" was probably not familiar with the terminology. Applodion (talk) 22:02, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
How was he captured or died?
[edit]How was Idi Amin captured? 87.248.238.141 (talk) 20:08, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
- He was never captured. He fled into exile, lived there for decades, and then died of natural causes. Applodion (talk) 21:10, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Age
[edit]Amin’s date of birth is not exactly known. There should be a consensus. Alba91 (talk) 01:31, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please read the article. Many possible dates have been used by various sources, but the most reliable ones use 30 May 1928. Applodion (talk) 19:16, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
Idi Amin in American comics.
[edit]I recently discovered a portrayal of Idi Amin in an American comic magazine, put out by the Harris Company. In the comic, the former dictator is portrayed as a Cleopatra-like Egyptian woman. I cannot think why you have not mentioned this comic series in your otherwise excellent article. Glammazon2 (talk) 17:38, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
